William Haviland is a classically trained pianist from London, United Kingdom. He creates meditative, nostaligia-infused works for solo keyboard, together with a diverse catalogue of folk, pop, and Classical music re-imaginings. His repertoire is described as heartfelt, peaceful, and oftentimes romantic. After almost a decade spent living overseas, William recently returned to the UK, and is now writing, arranging, and teaching full-time in Norfolk, England.

From the age of six, William received multi-instrumental tutition at the local Blackheath Conservatoire, later going on to read for a BMus in Classical Music at London’s prestigious King’s College. Subsequently, he spent several years engaged as an events/cocktail pianist, performing for a host of prominent city venues, including Grosvenor House Park Lane, Le Meridien Piccadilly, and Marriott County Hall. In 2010, he released his first album of original piano compositions, entitled Recollections. To date, a further 10 albums and 100+ singles have followed, including On a Sunny Tuesday [2016], and Timepiece [2018] - both of which were nominated for Album of the Year by SoloPiano.com.

With a multi-platform audience of over 25,000,000 streams to date, William’s music can now be discovered via dozens of online sites, including Whisperings Solo Piano, The River of Calm, Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and YouTube - where he mainly focuses on 20th Century chilled pop covers. He is also a Signature Artist for sheet music retailer Musicnotes.com, and has thus far compiled a collection of 200 scores.

In 2021, William signed a contract with Italian label Halidon Music, and his work now appears in a number of pop/Classical compilation albums, including Cinematic Piano, 100 Mozart Pieces, Film Music, and Christmas Nostalgia. Further afield, he was recently approached by Korean label Stomp, who will manage aspects of his catalogue within the territory. At the close of 2023, his music was featured in American non-profit StoryCorps’ podcast Mother Mary - subsequently broadcast via National Public Radio. In 2024, his composition Ciel Gris was played on BBC SoundsThe Sleeping Forecast.

Aside from solo piano efforts, William has a lo-fi/chill instrumental side project, known as Freddie’s Fridge. This is an opportunity for the artist to explore more diverse and complex musical structures, whilst retaining the emotional, calming nature of his solo work. When not writing, William enjoys walking in the East England countryside.
